David McCausland

After gaining a 2.1 (Hons) and Diploma in Civil Engineering from Southampton University, in 1986 David studied in Paris at l'École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and obtained a Certificat d'Études Supérieures (MSc equivalent), and subsequently worked for a French multinational.

David joined Fuller Horsey Wills as a non-cognate graduate in 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (General Practice Division) in 1992. He has gained wide experience in all aspects of property and agency advice acting for a broad range of clients including religious and other charities, a national airline, a high street travel agency and other commercial clients occupying offices and industrial complexes throughout the UK. David became a partner of Fuller Horsey Wills in 1998.
David is a known specialist in the provision of Non-Domestic Business Rates advice for all types of commercial premises with areas of particular expertise covering bulk liquid storage premises, ports, petrochemical works and oil refineries, the gas extraction and electricity production sectors, distribution warehousing, the motor trade as well as charitable property occupiers of premises including museums. David, as well as being a Chartered Surveyor is a Member of the Rating Surveyors Association, and the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation.

David is a member of the UKPIA (UK Petroleum Industries Association) Rating Panel and a member of the Rank Fellowship Committee. The Rank Fellowship is open to past and present beneficiaries of the Rank Foundation’s Leadership Award. It promotes networking and mutual support among Fellows and encourages them to invest time and effort in voluntary activities, thereby contributing to a better society. The Rank Fellowship is already geared up to provide practical opportunities for the Fellows to lend their skills and experience to specific not-for-profit or charitable organisations, including those supported by the Rank Foundation.
